Those who know me well, know that I love to plan a party. Since I had my son three and a half years ago, I have particularly enjoyed throwing baby showers for sweet little boys. I’m on a campaign that things for boys can be just as adorable (or more so) than for girls! (Actually, Diana and I both have two sweet little guys that are simply precious.)
For this baby boy shower, my co-host and I wanted something elegant and quintessentially Lexington. Here is what we came up with:
I love Jonathan at Gratz Park and the lovely Gratz Park Inn. If you are in the bluegrass area, I highly recommend them! The hotel is historic and lovely and Jonathan’s food could not be more delicious (and gluten-friendly)! Since we were hosting out-of-town guests, we felt that it would be a great taste of Lexington. We had their Sunday brunch. I love to entertain at this time of day because both you and your guests have the rest of the afternoon and evening to enjoy!
When your married name is Stork, your baby shower has to be a stork theme! The sweet invite with the stork silhouette helped to set the tone for this upscale and sweet event.
These cute burlap bags were filled with Crabtree & Evelyn lavender soap. They smelled divine and added whimsy to the table.
Jonathan’s truly was a lovely setting, which required very little extra decorating.
Perhaps my favorite detail was the baby’s family tree, with beautiful calligraphy by Lindsay of Shrimp Salad Circus. Since it was a family shower, each guest stamped their thumbprint on the tree, which the mom-to-be was able to take home as framable nursery art. J’adorable!
It was a lovely afternoon and we hope that the mom-to-be had as much fun that day, as we did planning the party.
What are your favorite shower themes or ideas?
