fabulously festive holidays

The holidays are upon us!  Christmas is just days away and my house is full of festive sights and smells of the season.  Here are a few of my favorite holiday things:

Entertaining.  So appreciative of my friend Elizabeth at Cutting Board Catering for her delicious bite-size hors d’oeuvres at my annual Christmas party.

Paper fans.  They make festive decorations from Christmas through the New Year.  Mine are gold and white, pictured here behind my pencil tree.

Cocktails. My personal favorite is a Poinsettia.  I love the bubbly addition of champagne!  Thanks to my friend Erica for creating this lovely chalk bar sign.

The Nutcracker ballet.  Seriously is there anything more wonderfully festive?  I feel like a kid each time I see it.  Here we are heading to see the Lexington Ballet Company production at the Lexington Opera House.

Concerts and festive holiday music.  We have done a lot of performing this season with Cantabile Vocal Ensemble and even got to attend Gabriel’s first Kindergarten program.  Here we are braving the cold for a picture in his cute printed shirt and velvet vest.

Baking!  I don’t think a day has gone by in the last week that we were not whipping up something fun in the kitchen.  Gingerbread houses are always a hit at our house, as are sugar cookies!  It’s extra fun in matching PJs.
