I am a fall girl. Perhaps it is a zodiac thing (my birthday is in October), but I absolutely love the autumn months. I love all cliché fall things from pumpkin-flavored treats to equestrian boots.
Here’s the rub – by this point in the summer, I am completely done with my summer wardrobe! By the first of August I am eager to transition away from my nautical inspired looks and bright Lily Pulitzer frocks. Instead, I am ready for new color palettes that evoke fall, but are cool and breezy enough for hot late summer days. My absolute favorite colors for this time of year are navy, pumpkin and cream.
How do you transition from your summer wardrobe?
I absolutely love attending charity functions, and am lucky to be able to do so several times a year. I got to attend two functions in the last month and I loved getting to dress up. I’m sharing some photos below. Can you tell that I love all things black?

In the bluegrass, spring style means being ready for Keeneland. The April meet (which runs April 8-29) is the perfect opportunity to break out your sundresses, if the weather allows. I’m not a huge fan of strapless dresses, especially this early in the season. I am crazy over cute, sweet shirt dresses like the one above, as a more modest alternative. The navy stripes on this Kate Spade design are simply adorable.
